About Arooj Karim
My name is Arooj Karim. I study how the human mind works — and I write about it in a way I wish someone had explained it to me years earlier.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I also completed a formal clinical internship. During that internship, I worked in a real clinical setting and gained hands-on experience supporting therapeutic processes under professional supervision.
As part of my training, I observed and applied principles from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach that helps individuals identify and challenge unhelpful patterns of thinking. I also worked with concepts from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which focuses on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and building healthier coping skills.
My clinical experience included conducting psychological assessments, assisting with therapeutic interventions, and practising breathing and grounding strategies designed to help individuals manage emotional distress.
I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Psychology, and my graduate studies continue to shape the way I approach every topic I research and write about.

✍️ Research Translation
Committed to transforming psychological research into practical insights readers can apply in everyday life.
Why I Started SavvyPsyche
I started SavvyPsyche because I kept seeing the same problem: psychology knowledge that could genuinely help people was often locked behind academic papers, technical language, and clinical settings that felt inaccessible to everyday readers.
The science of human behavior has the power to improve relationships, strengthen emotional resilience, and help people understand themselves more deeply. Yet much of that knowledge never reaches the people who could benefit from it the most.
I wanted to change that. Not by oversimplifying psychology or reducing it to quick fixes, but by translating complex concepts into practical insights that people can apply in their daily lives.
Every article published on SavvyPsyche is created with the same goal: to make evidence-based psychology approachable, honest, and genuinely useful.

Editorial Philosophy
At SavvyPsyche, psychology should be both scientifically grounded and genuinely useful. My goal is not to provide quick fixes or oversimplified answers, but to translate psychological concepts into practical insights that readers can understand and apply in everyday life.
Every article is researched carefully, written with honesty, and reviewed to ensure clarity and accuracy. When evidence is limited or professional support is necessary, I believe in communicating those boundaries transparently.
