Sometimes we feel so tired without any physical exertion. However, neither do we do so much physical work, nor is our productive routine such that we feel tired, so why?
Your focus starts to blur in everything, and you don’t feel like doing anything.
In this blog, Savvy Psyche will help you to understand why you get so tired without any hard work and feel mentally tired all the time. What are the main reasons for this tiredness? And how can this be stopped?
What is mental tiredness?
Mental tiredness makes your mind restless, and it also starts blurring your conscious state. You start forgetting things and feel irritated over small things.

Reasons why we feel mentally tired all the time:
Stress or anxiety:
When you have been stressed for a long time, and you start feeling anxious about everything, then there is a lot of mental pressure on you, due to which you feel mentally tired all the time.
Overthinking:
Overthinking also tires you mentally. Spending too much time worrying about your future or overthinking your past mistakes, it leaves you mentally fatigued. If this habit becomes so strong, your mind will still feel restless even when you rest.
Over responsibilities:
A person who is facing a lot of responsibilities at the same time, like taking care of family and parents, financial instability, family circle, career, and health issues, handling all these at the same time feels very restless.
Too much phone scrolling:
Phone scrolling late at night could be causing your mental stress.
Disrupted rest:
Lack of sleep or rest makes you feel mentally tired very quickly.
Holding emotions:
Feeling emotionally low, ups and downs of life, financial instability, heartbreaks, or gap communications. Keeping all these things in your heart for a long time and not sharing anything can make you mentally tired.
Where does this mental tiredness come from?
We think mentally tired comes when we are very physically tired, or our routine is very hectic. Even after resting, we still feel mentally tired. That mental tiredness is due to your long-term stress. We ourselves are not aware that our mental fatigue is due to our stress.

- Irritability
- Overthinking

- Nausea/ digestion problem

My personal experience:
When I was in my last semester, I was very stressed about my CGP. Because last time my previous exams were not good, which had a very negative effect on my CGP. But this time, I could not make this mistake, so I started studying nonstop, ignored my health, and did not take any breaks. When my semester exams came closer, I started feeling very mentally tired; I felt like I was nauseated all the time, not talking properly to anyone, and I kept getting irritated and angry all the time. I started blaming myself because my exams are approaching, and all this is happening to me.
After some time, I realized that all this is not because of the pressure of exams but because of my non-stop studying without any break, and the tension of exams, and I had ignored my health and did not take any rest at all. After that day, I made my study schedule, started studying on time, took a good diet, and took my sleep and rest, and believe me, gradually everything got managed very well with time.
How Mental Tiredness Affects Your Daily Life?
Your constant mental tiredness starts affecting even your daily life. You are unable to concentrate properly on anything, and you find it difficult even to do normal daily things. You start forgetting things. Your social circle also gets disturbed because of this.
In mental fatigue, you also experience mood swings, due to which you get irritated by things very quickly.

How can mental tiredness destroy relationships?
In mental tiredness, you develop anger issues, and this can lead to significant jealousy and conflict with your friend circle and family. You isolate yourself too much, stop you from giving time to your loved ones, which can sometimes lead to misunderstandings. You struggle to put effort into and balance a healthy relationship.

How mental tiredness gradually slows down your life:
Loss of motivation or feeling low all the time makes you feel like you are far behind others. This feeling starts to negatively affect you, leading to negative thoughts about yourself all the time. Instead of polishing your skills, they are suppressed. If you get motivated and think of doing something, the next minute your motivation goes down,
but then you start going towards your isolation zone again. You feel like nothing is happening in your life, it’s just stagnant, and you’re becoming hopeless. Therefore, you need to eliminate this mental fatigue from within; it could get you into trouble.
The difference between stress and mental fatigue:
The connection between stress and mental fatigue is the same. As you’ve already been told, the main cause of mental fatigue is stress, which you may be unaware of. When your body is under stress for a long time, it goes into alert mode. You remain alert all the time, fearing something might happen. Whenever you are involved in any work, your body becomes distracted. You don’t feel like doing it, and you suddenly start feeling low. The same thing happens in stressful situations. You remain conscious all the time and feel mentally exhausted all the time.
When should you be concerned about your mental fatigue?
When you start to feel that your mental fatigue has been persistent and doesn’t seem to be changing, and you recognize the proper signs, you need to seek help. Go to a good psychologist or therapist, share your problems, and find peace in your life.
